Nastasya's review

Before I went to Egypt, I didn't really picture the attractive potential of the Red Sea. I had heard about it but... if I had to think of a beach, I didn't think about this part of the world. What a mistake! Overall, I was absolutely amazed by the beauty of the natural landscapes of the coast! This contrast between the arid desert, the golden cliffs and the turquoise water of the seaside lagoons is the paradisiacal postcard, but with much more character, I am a total fan!
> I personally loved Marsa Alam, as it was still preserved from mass tourism. The seabed is of stunning beauty, and accessible even to novice divers. Between diving mornings, relaxing afternoons on a deckchair and evenings spent chatting with Bedouins living near the beach, it was the definition of a perfect holiday.
> On the other hand, be aware that the largest seaside resorts, such as Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh, are overrun by mass tourism. So if you are looking for peace and quiet, exchanges with the locals and authentic experience, choose your holiday destination carefully and give more priority to places like Marsa Alam, Dahab or Tab! You should also know that, like many countries, Egypt is affected by waste management issues. Try to be tolerant on this point, awareness-raising policies are not the same everywhere.
